It doesn’t matter to us at Micron Precision what you bring to the table so long as you know what it is you require. We don’t expect everyone that we work with to be fully conversant with machining methods and manufacturability of components that is what you come to us for. We have, over the years successfully taken the proverbial “cigarette packet” and “table napkin” sketches of clients ideas and produced the state of the art finished components that they needed. Our knowledgeable staff will sit down with you and help finalize your designs using our state of the art Computer aided design and Computer aided manufacturing facilities to turn your doodles into reality. Of course it is more cost effective for you, the customer, to provide us with the detailed drawings of the components that you require, and to this end we can accommodate most electronic variations of drawings such as IGES for example, and we are not so advanced that we can’t still work from the old fashioned paper drawings.

Once we have received your finalized drawings our programming department, which is headed by one of our owners, will set to work to turn your detailed information into lines of code, the information contained in these codes will tell the machine tools which tool to select and what path the tool will follow on the CNC machine. The code is automatically downloaded to any one or more of 12 machines depending on the order size and delivery requirements. Also at this time we will design and build any special fixtures required for holding the parts while machining, and our Quality department will look after obtaining any special gauging that may be required for inspection of the component.

The machinist is responsible for running the High Speed machine tools that we use at Micron Precision, why high speed? Because everything we do is aimed at servicing you, the customer. This means giving you Superior Quality Parts, for example, high speed machines furnish better surface finishes and higher dimensional accuracy. On Time Deliveries, high speed machines give us the ability to complete machining tasks faster and thereby move on to the next operation quicker. Competitive Prices, with high speed machines we get the finished parts of the machines faster, the quicker the parts are off the machine the lower the costs.

At Micron Precision we also offer complete to print services, this means we will take care of all the finishing requirements for your parts. Using qualified suppliers we can look after, Passivation, Plating i.e. Cadmium, Zinc and Gold, Anodizing and Painting all of this completed to your specific instructions and specifications. This service saves the customer time and expense because now when the parts reach your dock they are complete and ready for use, not merely machined and ready to go out again to yet another supplier where they may get damaged or delayed.

As a customer with a new product to build and deadlines to meet, you need to get your prototypes fast, one way to achieve this is to go to one of the many “Rapid” prototype shops that will give you an expensive paper or plastic model that probably meets most of your drawing, as long as you don’t need any threads or tight tolerances. At Micron Precision we will give you a Rapid prototype of a different kind; we can assign a programmer and machinist to work on your prototype. This means you get a finished “useable” component fast, with all tolerances met, all threads complete and surfaces finished if required. All we ask of you is to have a dedicated person at your end that can answer any questions we may have fast.
